ChemInform Abstract

The macrocycles (X), whose structure is confirmed by X-ray analysis ((Xa): space group P21/n; Z=12 and (Xb): space group Pbc21; Z=4), are synthesized starting from the aldehyde (I) via the bis-1,3-dithiane (IV) as shown in the scheme.
