The title compounds (III) are synthesized as described in the scheme and tested against leukemia cells.

The title compounds (III) are synthesized as described in the scheme and tested against leukemia cells. Whereas the 6-arylthio derivative (IIIa) is active, the alkylthio derivatives (IIIb)-(IIId) do not exhibit any effects.
