Abstract

p-Toluenesulfenyl chloride (II) reacts with vinyl ethers such as (Ia) to give the addition product (III) which is subsequently coupled with the vinyl ethers (I) or the ethynyl ether (VII) in the presence of Lewis acids, forming the compounds (IV) - (VI) or (VIII), depending on the work-up.
