Abstract

The Pd-catalyzed oxidation of the unsaturated hydrocarbons (I), (IV), (VI), and (VIII) gives the ketones (II), (III), (V), (VII), (IX), and (X).

ChemInform Abstract

The Pd-catalyzed oxidation of the unsaturated hydrocarbons (I), (IV), (VI), and (VIII) gives the ketones (II), (III), (V), (VII), (IX), and (X). Under the same conditions, the tetracyclic hydrocarbon (XI) only rearranges, producing the methylene compound (XII) without further oxidation. (IR-, 1H-NMR-data).
