ChemInform Abstract

The basicities and rates of proton transfer for compounds (II) and (III) are determined and considered in comparison with the results obtained for (I). The results are explained on the basis that with smaller and less flexible rings, the conformations of the amine and protonated amine are similar and there is little difference in strain between the two.
