Abstract
The aldehyde (II) reacts with organozinc compounds derived from the α-unsaturated bromides (I) to give the tertiary amides (III).

The aldehyde (II) reacts with organozinc compounds derived from the α-unsaturated bromides (I) to give the tertiary amides (III). This type of product can easily be transformed to the Secondary amines (IV) with concurrent elimination of pentanal.
