Abstract
Anovel method for the preparation of the title compounds is described.

Anovel method for the preparation of the title compounds is described. Aqueous IM solutions of the nitrates of rare earth metals or Yand onf A1 are mixed with 1M solutions of aqueous NH3, the pH of the suspensions formed being kept at 9.5- 10. The suspensions are purified, dried and then heated to 1100°C to afford the title compounds (I).
