Abstract
Aseries of reactions of the thiophenes (I) and (XV) yielding the compounds shown in the scheme are investigated.

Aseries of reactions of the thiophenes (I) and (XV) yielding the compounds shown in the scheme are investigated. The products (II), (IX), (X), (XVI) and (XVIIb) can be identified only by their spectral data. The unstable compounds (XIII), (XVIIa) and (XXIb) are transformed to their acetyl derivatives.
