Abstract
Asym. biaryl, the bi-naphtho-chrysenyl (II), is formed upon irradiation of the naphthochrysene (I).

Asym. biaryl, the bi-naphtho-chrysenyl (II), is formed upon irradiation of the naphthochrysene (I). Fluorescence studies of 72 (II) reveal that the emission originates from a TICT ("Twisted Intramolecular Charge Transfer") state.
