ChemInform Abstract

Aseries of cyclo- "hexene Compounds (ketones, nitriles and esters as well as tertiary, secondary and primary alcohols) are subjected to the acetylation method A) yielding the products shown in the scheme. The optimal ZnC12:Ac2O:substrate ratios are tabulated. In most cases, the corresponding acetates of the alcohols are formed as well. The compounds (XXVIII)-(XXXII) do not undergo an acetylation reaction.
