ChemInform Abstract: The Synthesis, Magnetic, Electrochemical, and Spectroscopic Properties of Diruthenium(II,II) Tetra-p-carboxylates and Their Adducts.
Abstract
The airsensitive complexes (I) have been ′synthesized by refluxing a reduced solution of RuCl3 in MeOH in the presence of an excess of the appropriate alkali-metal carboxylate for 18 h. By analogy with the corresponding compounds of Cr or M0 the carboxylato-compounds (I) may have infinite chain structures.
ChemInform Abstract
The airsensitive complexes (I) have been ′synthesized by refluxing a reduced solution of RuCl3 in MeOH in the presence of an excess of the appropriate alkali-metal carboxylate for 18 h. By analogy with the corresponding compounds of Cr or M0 the carboxylato-compounds (I) may have infinite chain structures. They can be ,crystallised from coordinating solvents as the weakly coordinated bis adducts (II). The crystal Structures of (IIc) (space group Pbcn, Z=4), (IId) (space group C2/c, Z=8) and (lIg) (space group PT, Z = I) have been determined. (Some yields not given).
