Fan P, Bartlett TQ. Overlooked small apes need more attention! Am J Primatol. 2017; e22658. https://doi.org/10.1002/ajp.22658

In the article cited above, there was an error in Figure 1 and Tables 2 and 3, which misrepresented the number of publications indexed by Web of Science on each ape genus during the period from 1987–2016. The corrected values are reported in the revised figure and tables below. The error occurred because not all versions of the Web of Science licensed to a given university contain full access to all entries in the data base.

Details are in the caption following the image
(a) Forest loss between 2000 and 2014, calculated based on the Global Forest Change map (Hansen et al., 2013). (b) Forest loss and protected areas within each species’ range (HH: Hoolock hoolock; HLE: H. leuconedys; HT: H. tianxing; NC: Nomascus concolor; NG: N. gabriellae; NH: N. hainanus; NL: N. leucogenys; NN: N. nasutus; NS: N. siki; HAG: Hylobates agilis; HAL: H. albibarbis; HK: H. klossii; HLA: H. lar; HMO: H. moloch; HMU: H. muelleri; HP: H. pileatus; SS: Symphalangus syndactylus) based on the World Database on Protected Areas (UNEP- WCMC, 2016). Numbers of species in each genus are indicated below the illustration. (c) Publications, by topic, for each ape genus from 1987 to 2016. Publications are aggregated in 5-year blocks. (d) Publications and author affiliations for seven ape genera between 1987 and 2016. Conservation related papers (i.e. refine on Environmental topic) are marked with different colors. Publications were searched by scientific names of all species in each genus included in the Web of Science Core Collection (www.isiknowledge.com). Illustrations copyright 2013 Stephen D.
