Platelet activation following cerebral angiography

Abstract

Following cerebral angiography, the level of β thromboglobulin rose in five of seven patients (P= < 0.05). This would indicate that there had been generalised platelet activation. In view of the morbidity of cerebral angiography it is proposed that a trial of prophylactic anti-thrombotic therapy be instituted.
