Abstract

Abstract: A newborn male infant presented with a single crateriform nodule in the region of the right iliac fossa. No extracutaneous involvement was found and the lesion involuted spontaneously without scarring in one month. Histology showed histiocytelike cells of which 10% to 15% contained Birbeck granules. SlOO protein could not be demonstrated. This case possibly represents a solitary variant of congenital self-healing reticulohistiocytosis.
