Abstract

As a part of a study on the mechanism of dye diffusion into fibres, the temperature dependence of the diffusion coefficient of some disperse dyes into nylon 6 film was studied above and below the glass-transition temperature, using mixed solvents as dyeing media. From the experimental results, the contributions of the pore model diffusion and the free-volume diffusion to overall diffusion are discussed.
