Abstract

Abstract. The contribution of prolactin, melatonin and the prolactin releasing pharmacon, meto-clopramide (Paspertin®), to the motivation of cleaning behaviour is analysed in the wrasse Labroides dimidiatus. The existence of a special cleaning motivation partly independent from hunger is stressed.
