Abstract

Twenty-eight pilot studies have been established with the support of the European Communities as part of an action programme to investigate ways of improving the transition of young people from education to working life. In the light of this we consider the near universal problems met by young people in their transition from school to work and then look at specific approaches derived from these and other experiments which might be co-ordinated within a comprehensive programme.
