BaNiYb2O5 kristallisiert nicht im Strukturtyp von BaNiLn2O5, sondern wie BaMLn2O5 (M = Cu, Zn). Die kristallchemischen Beziehungen zwischen Den drei bekannten Bautypen BaMLn2O5 I. M = Pt, Cu, Pd; II. BaNiYb2O5 — A New Compound with out BaNiLn2O5 Typ. In Addition a Contribution about BaCuSm2O5

Single crystals of BaNiYb2O5 (A) and BaCuSm2O5 (B) were prepared and investigated by X-ray diffractometer. ((A) a = 6.9499(10), b = 12.1512(12), c = 5.6389(23) Å, (B): a = 7.2834(66), b = 12.4053(33), c = 5.7436(98) Å; space group Durn:x-wiley:00442313:media:ZAAC19865400927:tex2gif-stack-2—Pbnm, Z = 4). (A) doesn't crystallize in the structure type of the BaNiLn2O5 compound but like BaMLn2O5 (M = Cu, Zn). The crystal chemistry of the three well known types of BaMLn2O5 compounds are discussed. The three types are: I. M = Pt, Cu, Pd; II. M = Ni; III. M = Ni, Cu, Zn.
