Abstract

We implemented photocatalytic technique of preparation of composite material consisting of silver nanoparticles embedded in nanoporous titanium dioxide matrix which has an unique property of multicolour photochromic behaviour. We report on the effect of preparation parameters on optical and photochromic properties of the material. In particular we investigate the role of the concentration of TiO2 nanoparticles in the ethanol solution used to produce the films for Ag deposition. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
