Abstract

A summary of recent optical experiments is presented, elucidating the properties of the carrier-induced ferromagnetic phase in p-doped (Cd,Mn)Te quantum wells. A special attention is paid to the existence and properties of the ferromagnetic domains. Spatially-resolved experiments with a resolution better than 0.5 µm do not show any domain pattern, but time-resolved experiments, performed in a range from picoseconds to microseconds, supply a strong evidence for the existence of the domains and determine their dynamics.
