Abstract

Photoemission from the bulk and the surface of Pd is calculated as a function of incident photon energy. The effect of the location of the surface state, with respect to the surface plane on the photocurrent is studied. For the Fermi level photoemission, the initial state wave function |ψ〉 deduced by employing the Kronig-Penney model is used. The photocurrent is calculated by incorporating the vector potential whose spatial dependence plays a major role during photoemission.
