Abstract

Transparent photochromic inorganic/organic hybrid gels involving the Chemically bonded spirobenzopyran moiety have been prepared by the sol–gel reactions using tetraethoxysilane, the silanol-terminated oligomeric poly(dimethylsiloxane), and spirobenzopyrans with the alcoxysilyl groups.
