Abstract

The LC-ladder and capacitive shunt–shunt feedback topology has been identified as a potential candidate for the implementation of wideband low-noise amplifiers. This article presents a summary of the mathematical model describing this configuration and explains the improvement of the linearity which also results in reduced sensitivity to process variations. Simulated and preliminary measured results for a design using the IBM 7WL SiGe processes are presented. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
