Abstract

A dual band-notched monopole antenna with an annular coplanar waveguides feeding structure for ultra-wideband (UWB) application is proposed, in which the ring in the feeding structure is used to increase the impedance bandwidth, and two quarter-wavelength tuning stubs inserted into the proposed feeding ring and radiating ring, respectively, creates two band-notches at 5.15 and 5.75 GHz across the UWB frequency band from 2.6 to 12 GHz. The novel design is quiet compact and suitable for creating UWB antenna with dual narrow frequency notches. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
