2-pyridyl-5-alkyloxyphenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazoles by the action of sulfur on methylpyridines in the presence of alkyloxybenzoylhydrazines
Abstract
Title thiadiazoles were obtained by reaction of sulfur and methylpyridines in the presence of alkyloxybenzoylhydazines. Corresponding oxadiazoles together with symmetrical 2,5-dialkyloxyphenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazoles were also isolated as by-products. The formation of different reaction products is rationalized.
