ChemInform Abstract
Ten compounds are isolated from the fruiting bodies of G. lucidum, including the three new lanostane-type triterpene aldehydes (I)—(III). The structures of the new triterpenes are determined by spectroscopic means. The isolated compounds are tested for their cytotoxic activity against Lewis lung carcinoma, breast cancer, Sarcoma 180, and murine sarcoma cell lines in vitro. Lucialdehydes B and C, (II) and (III), as well as two of the remaining compounds exhibit cytotoxic effects. Lucialdehyde C, (III), shows the most appreciable toxicity.
