ChemInform Abstract

The new synthetic borate β-Cs[B5O6(OH)4]×2H2O (IIIa) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD). The structure contains isolated [B5O6(OH)4]- bicyclic anions separated by free water molecules and Cs+ ions. The study of the thermal behavior of compounds (III) leads to the identification of several forms of MB5O8.
