ChemInform Abstract
The μ-dimethoxo diferric salen derivative DMDIFS is a novel and efficient catalyst for aerobic epoxidation of olefins in the presence of molecular oxygen and isobutyraldehyde as the reductant. The better β-selectivity with cholesterol (I) and the excellent yields with electron deficient olefins such as (IV) are examples for the variety of this epoxidation.
