ChemInform Abstract

The cross-coupling of aryl halides (I) and (IV) with aryl (II) or vinyl stannanes (VI) proceeds smoothly in the presence of Bu4NF and a Pd(O-Ac)2—imidazolium salt catalytic system. It is shown that aryl chlorides need harsher reaction conditions and afford good yields only in the presence of electron-withdrawing substituents [cf. (IVc)].
