ChemInform Abstract

The title compound is prepared by reaction of a mixture of Li, Ca, and Re (6:1:1) in a N₂ stream (900 °C, 60 h). The oxygen content results from a leak in the gas supply. (OLi₂Ca₄)₃[ReN₄]₄ crystallizes in the cubic space group I equation image 3d with Z = 4 and is isotypic with (OLi₂Ca₄)₃[MN₄]₄ (M: W, Mo). The structure can be derived from the Th₃P₄ structure by replacing Th by (OLi₂Ca₄)⁸⁺ tetragonal bipyramids and the P atoms by [Re^IVN₄]^6- tetrahedra.
