ChemInform Abstract

The title compound is prepared by reaction of a mixture of Li, Ca, and Re (6:1:1) in a N2 stream (900 °C, 60 h). The oxygen content results from a leak in the gas supply. (OLi2Ca4)3[ReN4]4 crystallizes in the cubic space group Iequation image3d with Z = 4 and is isotypic with (OLi2Ca4)3[MN4]4 (M: W, Mo). The structure can be derived from the Th3P4 structure by replacing Th by (OLi2Ca4)8+ tetragonal bipyramids and the P atoms by [ReIVN4]6- tetrahedra.
