ChemInform Abstract

Melts of the PbO—V2O5 system can be utilized for single crystal growth of lead metatantalate with rhombohedral structure as well as with a structure related to that of tetragonal potassium tungsten bronzes. Single crystals of ferroelectric PbTa2O6 with TC = 265 °C are obtained using the method of spontaneous crystallization.
