ChemInform Abstract

Oxazolinyl oxiranes (III) are synthesized stereoselectively by coupling of boron or titanium azaenolates derived from the chiral oxazoline (I) with ketones (II). A lower diastereoselection is observed in analogous reactions of the boron azaenolate derived from 9-BBN. In contrast, reactions of aromatic ketones (IV) proceed with very poor or no stereoselection.
