ChemInform Abstract
A new, safe, convenient, and high yielding approach to the title compound is reported. Additionally, it is found that dehydrogenation of the thiazole intermediate derived from (VI) proceeds with concomitant elimination of the 2,3-benzoate groups. This is an unprecedented process.
