ChemInform Abstract

Highly energetic mechanical grinding (planetary-type mill) of an equimolar mixture of Fe and TiH2 in an argon atmosphere results in the formation of the nanostructure compound FeTiH. Structure and phase composition of the mixture at different temporal grinding stages are analyzed by X-ray and Moessbauer spectroscopy.
