ChemInform Abstract

The new method to generate amines from the corresponding azides involves the use of two equivalents of Bu3SnH in the presence of NiCl2(dppe). The yields of amines are strongly dependent on the nature of the azide. Benzyl azide undergoes under these conditions a replacement of the azide group by hydrogen to give toluene.
