ChemInform Abstract

The reaction of electron-poor diazabutadienes (I) with electron-poor hydrazines (II) gives with high regio- and chemoselectivity the Michael addition products (III). These key intermediates are used as building blocks for the synthesis of products and intermediates useful in organic synthesis like heterocycles having a carboxylhydrazine side chain [cf. (V) and 1,2,4-triazines (VII)].
