ChemInform Abstract

An improved oxidation reaction to dehydroestrone derivative (II) starting from estrone benzyl ether (I) is reported. Moreover, the oxidation of (I) by an excess of DDQ in dioxane containing methanol allowed for an unusual 12 functionalization.
