ChemInform Abstract
A diastereoselective route towards a substructure containing the AB-ring system of 9-azasteroids is developed. Diastereoselective Diels-Alder cycloaddition of (I) with Danishefskys diene (II) gives product (IV) with correct stereochemistry for the AB-ring system. Reductive cyclization methodology yields the target molecule (VI).
