ChemInform Abstract

Reaction of allene-like cations derived from 4-chromanone arylhydrazones (I) with nitriles provides an efficient entry to the so far unknown triazolobenzoxazepine ring system present in compounds (IV) and (VI). The reaction proceeds via a tandem cycloaddition—ring enlargement mechanism.
