ChemInform Abstract

A convenient method for the formation of bulky dihydrocoumarins (III) (14 examples) via zeolite-catalyzed reaction of phenols with cinnamic acids is described. The easy product separation, good product yields and recyclability of the catalyst are the main advantages of this reaction procedure.
