ChemInform Abstract

A series of new β-methoxyacrylates is synthesized and identified as novel, potentially inexpensive, antimalarial agents. Compounds (III) exhibit the best activity in vitro and in vivo. In particular, (IIIb) is the most potent compound, with potency superior to that of chloroquine (some yields not given).
