ChemInform Abstract

The Mannich reaction of easily available Schiff bases (III) appears to be highly regioselective and furnishes exclusively the N-Mannich bases (VI) (16 examples) and none of the S-Mannich base derivatives. The majority of the Mannich bases obtained show significant antifungal activity.
