Reaction of the title quinolinethiones (I) with equimolar amounts of acetylenic dipolarophiles provides dithiolylidenequinolinethiones in good yields. Reaction of compounds (I) with two-fold excess of acetylenic dipolarophiles gives 1:2 adducts with spiro structure (IV).
