ChemInform Abstract

A novel approach to dihydroxyethylene isosteres potentially useful for new HIV-protease inhibitors is developed. Key step in the synthesis is a regio- and stereoselective reaction of the epoxyalcohol (I) with diethyl aluminum cyanide (II).
