ChemInform Abstract

The behavior of dienamines (I), (XIV), and (XVI) towards alkenic and alkynic dienophiles is studied. Unlike several chromenone-derived dienes giving exclusively [4 + 2] cycloadducts with various dienophiles, the dienamine (I) undergoes either Diels—Alder reaction with alkenic dienophiles or Michael addition (through its β- or δ-carbon) to them.
