The title compounds (IV) and (VII) are easily prepared by vinylalumination of α-bromoaldehydes and -ketones (I) and (V) and cyclization of the bromohydrins (III) and (VI). These epoxides [cf. (VIIa)] undergo typical reactions without affecting the vinyl group.
