ChemInform Abstract
The application of chiral sulfinimine in the synthesis of optically active isoquinolines such as (S)-(V) is shown. The transformation of (S)-(V) to a known synthetic intermediate (VII) in the preparation of 13-hydroxyprotoberberines demonstrates the usefulness of the novel methodology.
