ChemInform Abstract

Incorporation of a readily metabolized esters into the spiroindane benzylic position provides a series of highly potent secretagogues. Incorporation of an ester or acid into the benzylic position of the spiroindan increases potency. Thus, (II) is ten times more active than (Ib).
