ChemInform Abstract

The title compound (XIV) is a representative member of a class of mycotoxins known to exhibit a wide range of biological activities. Its first total synthesis is accomplished in a convergent manner from the fragments (VI), (XII), and the tricarballylic acid segment. The preparation of building blocks (VI) and (XII) is described.
