ChemInform Abstract

In continuation of a program for biologically active natural products the novel title indole terpene (I) is isolated and the structure investigated by spectroscopic analysis. The relative stereochemistry of the eastern and western hemisphere of (I) and its methyl ester is independently determined. Results are confirmed by an X-ray analysis of a derivative and its absolute stereochemistry is established.
